Flutist Yvonne Chavez Hansbrough divides her time between teaching and performing. She is currently Professor of Flute at The College of Saint Rose, principal flutist with the Glens Falls Symphony, a member of Empire Baroque, flutist at Proctors Theater, and director/flutist of the Saint Rose Camerata.


Yvonne is equally at home performing all styles of music in solo, chamber, and orchestral settings. She also plays historical and traditional flutes, and enjoys her collection of over fifty flutes. She has traveled nationally and internationally as a flutist and teacher to several U.S. states, Hungary, Bulgaria, Greece, and England.


Current projects include: her solo baroque flute recording “Eighteenth-Century Solo Work for Flute”, which will be released fall 2019;  Saint Rose Flute Day, a festival open to flutists of all ages on October 5, 2019;  Saint Rose Camerata, a faculty chamber music series of four concerts per year; NYSSMA All-State Conference clinician: "Getting to the Next Level: Advanced/Intermediate Flute Techniques".
